Project Home partnership seeks new path to reduce chloride

MADISON, WIS. – A new partnership between Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District and Project Home seeks to put more boots on the ground in the effort to reduce the amount of chloride reaching the region’s surface waters. Through a $12,000 innovation grant from the District, Project Home and Fox Water will partner on a project to reduce chloride from area homes tributary to Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District. Project Home staff members will be trained to optimize water softeners and collect data on salt and softened water use.

District adds tours to customer and community meeting

MADISON, WIS. – A community discussion about mitigating the impacts of extreme weather, the importance of pollution prevention and the need to reinvest in the region’s water infrastructure takes place Wednesday, March 20 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District’s Maintenance and Training Facility. To help prioritize efforts and develop community-oriented solutions, Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District will lead the discussion with elected officials, public works leaders and interested residents from its 26 customer communities as well as regional stakeholders.

Approved sewerage District budget preserves affordability, sets course for resiliency

MADISON, WIS. – The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District Commission has approved a $40.7 million budget for 2019 that invests in infrastructure, information technology and strategic initiatives as part of the District’s long-term vision for enriching life through clean water and resource recovery. Mary Swanson confirmed as newest member of the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District Commission

MADISON, WIS. – Mary Swanson has been appointed to serve on the nine-member Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District Commission. Swanson, vice president of the certification department for Green Seal, brings 30 years of environmental experience to her role as commissioner, including a focus on eco-labeling, developing tools for evaluating cleaner products and technologies and evaluating the environmental fate and effects of toxic chemicals. She was appointed by the executive council of the cities and villages served by the District.

Proposed sewerage District budget focuses on reliability, maintains affordability

MADISON, WIS. – Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District’s proposed 2019 budget supports the District’s vision of enriching life through clean water and resource recovery with investments in infrastructure, information technology and strategic initiatives. A public hearing on the proposed budget will be held as part of the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District Commission meeting Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at 8 a.m. at the District’s Maintenance Facility, 1610 Moorland Road.
